KBA Consultative forum
The KBA Consultative Forum consists of a wide range of end-users of the KBA Data who provide input and advice to the KBA Committee on the dissemination and use of KBA data, management decisions, marketing, funding, etc. of the KBA Programme, and who in turn are informed about progress and plans in the implementation of the KBA Programme.
End users include, among others, national governments, multilateral environmental agreements (e.g., Convention on Biological Diversity, Ramsar Convention), international financing institutions, private-sector companies, intergovernmental agencies, indigenous peoples organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
The primary role of the KBA Consultative Forum is to:
- communicate needs and challenges in the use and application of KBA Data to the KBA Committee; and conversely
- be informed by the KBA Committee about decisions, progress and plans regarding the implementation of the KBA Programme.
The Consultative Forum is established by the KBA Committee. The current co-chairs of the Consultative Forum are:
- Amandine Favier (WWF) and Corli Pretorius (UNEP-WCMC)
